Carne Asada Fries Recipe 

Get ready to indulge in these loaded Carne Asada Fries! Crispy fries topped with tender, flavorful carne asada, gooey melted cheese, and fresh pico de gallo—this dish is the ultimate treat for any occasion. Perfect for sharing (or not)! 

Ingredients:

For the Carne Asada:

Flank steak or skirt steak: 1 lb (450g) 
Olive oil: 2 tablespoons 
Lime juice: 2 tablespoons 
Garlic: 3 cloves, minced 
Cumin: 1 teaspoon 
Chili powder: 1 teaspoon 
Salt and pepper: To taste 
Cilantro: 2 tablespoons, chopped 

For the Fries:

Frozen French fries: 1 bag (or make fresh fries from 3-4 large potatoes) 
Cheddar cheese: 1 1/2 cups, shredded 
Pico de Gallo: 1 cup (store-bought or homemade) 
Sour cream: For topping 
Cilantro: Additional, for garnish 

Instructions:


Marinate the Carne Asada:

In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and chopped cilantro. Add the steak, making sure it’s well-coated in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results. 

Cook the Fries:

While the steak is marinating, cook the fries according to package instructions (or make your own from scratch). Once cooked, spread the fries on a large serving platter. 

Cook the Carne Asada:

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the marinated steak for about 3-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from heat and let the steak rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain. 

Assemble the Carne Asada Fries:

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over them, allowing it to melt slightly. Top with the sliced carne asada, pico de gallo, and a dollop of sour cream. Garnish with additional chopped cilantro if desired. 

Serve:

Serve these loaded carne asada fries immediately, while the cheese is melty and everything is warm. Enjoy this flavorful and satisfying dish as a meal or an indulgent snack!
